One of the most common mistakes I see people make when they enter the ebook industry is trying to market an ebook too early.
You can see many of these types of businesses – if that’s what they are! They slap together a handful of impersonal posts (probably picked from an article directory) and then they (heavily) promote an ebook – be it their own or as an affiliate.
The Internet has been a revolution. It has totally changed the way business – of all sizes – interact with their potential customers.
In today’s online business world, it’s all about building credibility and creating relationships with your (potential) customers.
And don’t expect building credibility to be a quick process. It doesn’t just happen within a 7-day eCourse!
Sorry, in this instance you have to put in the hard yards. You need to provide high quality of content, you’ve got to continually deliver excellent free resources and you’ve got to be consistent.
Consistency is much underrated when talking about building credibility.
Consistency means developing an eye-catching blog; it means postings on a regular schedule … it really means delivering the goods, consistently.
My advise to those wanting to get into the eBook business – and it is a great business to be in – is to blog first and think about an ebook later.
Put simply, earn the right to sell your eBook to your selected market segment.
