My Go To Team of Blogs When Starting Up

When I start a blog I go through a routine – a system you may call it: Upload the WordPress files, create a mySQL database, play with a theme, add in my core set of plugins and so on. It’s become second nature.

I then tweak all my WordPress settings (the same ones all the time) and then I head out on a tried and true adventure…

The Blogs I Go To to Develop The eBook Agency…

Why should I reinvent the wheel when it’s all there for the taking – or in my case, for the reading.

My Number One port of call is Smashing Magazine. This site continually provides awesome content, usually long lists of fonts, icons, web design etc., I always get inspired and creative when visiting SmashingMagazine.

I also have a swipe file for headlines and yep, you coulda guessed it: Smashing Magazine gets a good run in it. :-)

And off we go to my second port of call…

ProBlogger.net is almost a no-brainer. I have been reading this blog since I first started blogging (back in late ’04). Darren Rowse – a fellow Aussie – is a master at communicating and building a community. Evergreen posts are the one’s I’m mainly after. Being away from blogging for a year or so, reading these posts gets you back in that blogging mode.

And then it’s off to CopyBlogger, Brian Clark’s contribution to good blog copy writing. I use this blog quite a bit. Although not as much these days – I have saved all their relevant posts (and there are many) of writing copy for the web, writing headlines etc. – and another swipe file inductee. :-)

I must say that I especially enjoy Sonia Simone’s writing at Copyblogger – she seems to have taken over most of the writing there as Brian goes off with his many launches.

Daniel Scocco’s Daily Blog Tips, the collective writers at Blogging Tips and Weblog Tools Collection are also on my constant radar.

And finally, WebWorkerDaily provides a nice mix of posts.

Am I missing something? Is there a “Must Read” blog out there that I’ve missed … let me know.
